FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Picture a beautiful beach spanning miles of coastline, gently lapped by aqua-colored water - and sprinkled with glass.

Ouch? Think again. It feels just like sand, but with granules that sparkle in the sunlight.

Faced with the constant erosion of Florida's beaches, Broward County officials are exploring using recycled glass - crushed into tiny grains and mixed with regular sand - to help fill gaps.

It's only natural, backers of the idea say, since sand is the main ingredient in glass.

"Basically, what we're doing is taking the material and returning it back to its natural state," said Phil Bresee, Broward's recycling manager.

The county would become the first in the nation to combine disposal of recycled glass with bolstering beach sand reserves, Bresee said.

"You reduce waste stream that goes to our landfills and you generate materials that could be available for our beaches," said Paden Woodruff of the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Sand is a valuable commodity in South Florida, where beach-related business generates more than $1 billion a year for Broward alone.

Sand to replenish eroded beaches is typically dredged from the ocean floor and piped to shore - about 13 million tons of it since 1970 in Broward. That's enough sand to fill the Empire State Building more than 12 times over.

But with reef preservation restricting future dredge sites, sand is becoming scarce. And the price is rising as construction and fuel costs rise and dredge operations are pushed farther offshore.

In 2005, dredging brought in about 2.6 million tons of sand at a cost of $45 million. A similar operation in 1991 brought in about 1.3 million tons of sand for just $9 million.

The county would create only 15,600 tons of the glass material each year, not enough to solve its sand shortage, but enough to create a reserve for filling eroded spots before they can worsen, Bresee said.

Most of Broward County's 24 miles of beaches are considered critically eroded, and more than a quarter of Florida's 1,350-mile coastline falls into the same category. About $80 million is spent annually restoring Florida's beaches.

The glass-sand idea grew from the unintentional consequences of an ocean dump site off Northern California near Fort Bragg. Beginning in 1949, garbage - including lots of glass - was dumped over a cliff into the ocean, said Charles Finkl, a marine geologist with Boca Raton-based Coastal Planning and Engineering.

Finkl said that while organic material degraded over the years, the glass broke up and became smooth as it tumbled in the surf. The area is now known locally as Glass Beach. Another dump site in Hawaii produced similar results, Finkl said.

"You talk about glass beach and people have images of sharp glass shards but it's not that way at all," he said.

Recycled glass also has been used for beaches along Lake Hood in New Zealand and on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao.

It's unclear how much the project would cost Broward County, or if the project is even feasible. The state and county have so far spent about $600,000 just on tests and engineering.

The county tested a small patch of glass sand on a dry patch of beach last year, using sensors to measure effects of heat and moisture. Scientists have also conducted laboratory tests that show organisms and wildlife can thrive in the material just like natural sand, they said. The county is awaiting a permit to test glass sand in the surf zone.

Some people are raising caution flags.

"There's no way that you can predict all the environmental consequences of an action like this," said Dennis Heinemann, a senior scientist with the Ocean Conservancy. "There always will be unforeseen consequences."

One example sits just off shore.

The state and Broward County are spending millions to remove some 700,000 old tires that were placed on the ocean floor off Fort Lauderdale in the 1970s and fastened together to create an artificial reef. The tires came loose, moving around and scouring the ocean floor and wedging against natural reefs, killing coral.

What's your comment on this idea? Feel free to add it!

If Bush lets this happen it'll create massive unemployed among our tax paying truckers! Then huge Co's can hire Mexicans for half cost, what do you think they'll do? If we wont stand by our own, we wont stand at all.. . "Those who expect to reap the blessings of liberty, must undergo the fatigues of supporting it" ~ Thomas Payne
Subject: ALERT: THE "NATIONAL TRUCK OUT" TRUCKERS BOYCOTT 4/23 - 25 /07

IMPORTANT INFO ON THE "NATIONAL TRUCK OUT" TRUCKERS BOYCOTT 4/23 - 25 /07

WE ARE ORGANIZING A TRUCKERS BOYCOTT OF BUSH'S PLAN TO LET 17,000 MEXICAN TRUCKERS INTO AMERICA IN LESS THAN 60 DAYS.

WE ARE TRYING TO REACH OUT TO EVERY TRUCKER IN AMERICA TO STOP TRUCKING IN A NATIONAL "TRUCK OUT" BOYCOTT ON APRIL 23-25, 2007.

FAIRUS HAS JOINED THIS FIGHT, AS WELL AS FROSTY WOOLRIDGE, AND FAIRUS WILL BE REPRESENTING THE TRUCKERS IN THE "PUT THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE" PRESS CONFERENCE RALLY HELD IN WASHINGTON DC ON APRIL 23-25.

WE ARE CALLING ON EVERY PERSON WE KNOW TO JOIN IN THIS FIGHT AND HELP ORGANIZE THE TRUCKERS BY GETTING ON YOUR CB RADIOS AND BROADCASTING TO THE TRUCKERS IN YOUR AREA THE MESSAGE TO JOIN IN THIS BOYCOTT.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN IN THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME BETWEEN NOW AND THE RALLY ON APRIL 23-25, BEFORE BUSH WILL OPEN OUR BORDERS TO THE MEXICAN TRUCKERS.

PLEASE HELP US PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. IF THEY WON'T LISTEN TO OUR LETTERS AND FAXES, MAYBE THEY WILL LISTEN IF OUR TRUCKERS SHUT THIS COUNTRY DOWN AND SURROUND THE WHITE HOUSE.

WE CAN AND MUST MAKE THIS HAPPEN !!!

Below I have put together some bullet points that I feel are important issues
about Bush's plan to let the Mexican truckers into the U.S. and how that will
adversely affect this entire nation. The truckers will loose their futures,
and it will seal the fate of our country to the loss of our sovereignty,
Constitution and ultimately our governing bodies, liberties and freedoms. We
could even wind up loosing our lives if the terrorists, La Raza and the
revolutionary brown berets have their way.

"Truck Out" Bullet points:

The main talking points for the CB Broadcasts are:

1. Bush is planning, in less than 60 days, to allow tens of thousands ( 17,000 or more to start ) of Mexican trucks and truckers into our country with no checks and balances in place. Rigs will be allowed in with no weight regulations, no load restrictions (as their loads will not be under the same
security scrutiny that our truckers loads have to comply to, which opens the door to more drug, terrorist, weapons and human smuggling), some with no insurance in place, some truckers with no drivers licenses and criminal driving records, no background checks, and trucks that are not regulated to adhere to our strict safety regulations.

2. Once again the illegals will be given special treatment by our govt., above
that of our legal American citizens and legal immigrants, that allows them to
break laws in our country that our truckers cannot get away with or their licenses would be pulled, their trucks impounded, and potentially criminally charged.

3. These truckers can haul for far less per load than our own truckers and will take their jobs. This is not a threat, or something that may happen, it has been in the planning stages for several years now and this is the implementation of those plans. The truckers WILL loose their jobs.

4. This plan by Bush is completely one sided as the Mexican truckers will be allowed into America, but once again we have no rights to do the same in Mexico.

5. This is a complete breakdown of the current trucking laws and regulations
that govern our teamster truckers and Independent trucking organizations. This
will work to destroy the truckers livelihoods and futures, as for many, this is
all they have ever done.

6 We cannot allow this to happen, not even to test it. NAFTA is a failed
international policy that has backfired on the U.S., as warned, and is driving our country into total ruin.

7. We want our truckers to participate in a national "Truck Out" Boycott, on the 23-25 of April, to coincide with the FairUS rally planned in Washington DC, the Put Their Feet To The Fire Press Conference Rally. This would be a great way to get additional national press coverage needed to get the trucker's protest message out to the nation.

8. The "Truck Out" can be for one day, or all three if the truckers are willing. The point is to shut all trucking down and surround every capital in every state with a convoy of trucks, cars and motorcycles to protest the corrupt plans our govt has to destroy our trucking industry, and our nation. This will, in turn, shut all industry dependent on the truckers down, as most
of these industries employee illegals. This will show our govt that we do have power and will exercise it, and will not tolerate their refusal to do the will of the legal American citizens and immigrants in this country.

We are demanding NO amnesty for illegal aliens, an end to the socialist/fascist corruption in our govt by our elected officials who refuse to uphold our laws, our Constitution, their oaths of office, and the people who voted them into office. We are their bosses and it's time for them to stop ignoring us, blatantly breaking our laws, and twisting the truth to suit their own nefarious agendas.

9. Please join the "Truck Out" and email inamericasince1700@yahoo.com for more
information A phone number is being set up and will be posted on the new web site SaveAmericaFund.com. The web site will be operational starting next week, with an email address and a phone number for any questions or support.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR DOING EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER
TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. WE ARE ALL COUNTING ON
EACH OTHER TO SAVE AMERICA.
LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN AND DO IT NOW !!!!!!!
March 26, 2007

The CB-radios are rumbling already we have a 'war' on our hands.

Do you agree with the Bush-Kennedy Plan to "outsource" your job to a Mexican national driver ? Do you remember how the Congress stood up when the farmers circled the Capital with John Deere tractors, and tied-up the city big-time ?

President Bush and his ally, Sen. Teddy Kennedy have already set in motion a process to displace American truckers out of their jobs within 45 days with their insidious Mexican trucker pilot program. Bush signed a Bill that allows thousands of substandard 18-wheeler long haul rigs from Mexico onto America's Interstate and local highway system. Mexican drivers, who can't read, speak or understand English receive full access to America's highways.

What are we thinking ?
Bush, Kennedy and friends place all American motorists at risk Mexican drivers with average 6th grade educations gained in a Third World country, gross incompetence and habitually drunk Mexican drivers as well as their un-inspected, unsafe trucks and trailers. Not only will American truckers lose their jobs, but American motorists become collateral damage in accidents guaranteed to occurclosing highways and tying up traffic in the process.

The Bush-Kennedy action mandates a new beginning where American truckers' jobs vanish with a new version of the familiar song, "Mexican drivers do the jobs that American truckers won't do for slave-wages."

This "takeover" will happen in gradual stages. Talk About Depressing.
First, the independent haulers will see their loads undercut by Mexican drivers. Later, Mexican drivers will chip away at produce- and contract- haulers.

Given just a little time Wal-Mart and CostCo (Swift) and Home Depot will hire Mexican drivers at half the wages of American truckers with no fringe-benefits.

Mexican truckers, ever looking for black market loads of people, drugs and products, will create new smuggling routes across the USA. How will the 3,000 DHS-ICE officers and our loyal state police in the lower-48 handle that additional workload ?

Given enough time, the Bush-Kennedy duo will see to it that American trucking follows the auto industry, construction, drywall, painting, landscape and fast food industry into the toilet.

Trucker Boycott and Blockade; 21-23 April 2007
Therefore, truckers from four border states Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California and beyond, may smell the bacon and choose to participate in a trucker boycott; April 23, 24, 25, 2007. Those truckers that want to stop this latest insult to America's working class by this president and Congress may elect to shut their rigs down for the entire three days.

Lack of Appreciation MUST Be Properly Rewarded
It is high-time to show Bush and his sorry friends in Congress that truckers are the lifeblood of our nation and can paralyze this country in a New York minute if our sorry-assed leaders continue on this national suicide mission of killing jobs for American truckers. Additionally, truckers may surround all 48 state capitals with their rigs nestled nose-to-tail park 'em, and walk away !

Mr. Bush and Mr. Kennedy, if you and your allies in Congress decide to spit on American truckers, we'll see who can spit into the next pasture!

Who is Frosty How and why does he know?
As a starving school-teacher, I trucked for 21 summers and three solid years for United Van Lines, Consolidated and Single Source. My certificate is still valid today. I know the saving grace that truckers represent and the ultimate power of good truckers who work together for the common good.

We deliver everything that Americans need on a daily basis: food, gasoline, lumber, cars, water EVERYTHING !

Mr. Bush, Senator Kennedy, and the sponsors of the flakey Bill (Reps. Gutierrez & Flake) in the House you won't be able to wipe your butt without us delivering the Charmin!

As Wanda Piety at www.SaveAmericaFund.com said, "When Bush & Kennedy invite the Mexican truckers into the USA, the U.S. citizen-taxpayer truckers will lose their futures, and it will seal the tragic fate of this country as we lose our sovereignty, Constitution and ultimately our governing body, liberties and freedoms. Anarchy and lawlessness is suicide."

"Truck Out" talking-points and Action-Steps:
1. Bush-Kennedy have already taken action to implement the plan, in less than 45 days, to allow anarchy tens of thousands (17,000 or more to start) of Mexican trucks and truckers into our country with no checks and balances in place. There are not nearly enough qualified U.S. DOT inspectors, even if we wanted to inspect the Mexican trucks and drivers.

Rigs will be allowed to cross the border with no weight regulations, no load restrictions (as their loads will not be under the same security scrutiny that our truckers' loads have to comply to, which opens the door to more drugs, terrorist, weapons and human smuggling), some with no liability or collision insurance in place, some truckers with no driver-licenses and some with criminal driving records, no background checks, bald-tires and trucks that are not regulated to adhere to our strict safety regulations.

2. Once again the illegal aliens will be given special treatment by our government, above that of our legal American citizens and legal immigrants, which allows them to break laws in our country that our truckers cannot get away with or our licenses would be pulled, our trucks impounded, and potentially criminally charged.

3. These foreign-national truckers have low-overhead (few expenses) and thus can haul for far less per load than our own truckers and will take our jobs. This is not a threat, or something that may happen it has been in the planning stages for several years now. American truckers WILL lose our jobs. In that process, American families (children in particular) will suffer. The greedy employers who hire the illegal aliens will increase their profits. What a deal !

4. This is a complete breakdown of the current trucking laws and regulations that govern our teamster truckers, independent trucking organizations, and mom-and-pop trucking families. This will work to destroy the truckers' livelihoods and futures as for many, this is all they have ever done.

5. We cannot allow this to happen, not even to test it. This is the USA. NAFTA is a failed international policy that has backfired on the U.S., as warned, and is driving our country into total ruin. We do NOT need to pay-off the Kennedy-Bush debts.

6. We invite our truckers to participate in a national "Truck Out" Boycott, on the 23-25 of April, to coincide with the www.FairUS.org rally planned in Washington DC, the "Put Their Feet to the Fire" Press Conference Rally intended to help the Congress and the Executive Branch understand and appreciate that the U.S. citizen-taxpayers have had enough of the multicultural 'sanctuary' crap.

7. WHAT WILL THE "TRUCK-OUT" ACCOMPLISH ? The point is to shut down all trucking and surround every legislative capital building in every state (and in D C) with a bumper-to-bumper "train" of trucks. We need local truckers to take-over the planning for their state capital.

The "Day Without Immigrants" fiasco last year was a cake-walk compared to this campaign. Imagine a "Day without U.S. citizen-truckers." Now there's a bid deal.

In addition, there will be a convoy of trucks, cars and motorcycles in every major city to protest the corrupt plans our government has to destroy our trucking industry, and our nation.

This will, in turn, shut down all industry dependent on the truckers, as most of these industries employee illegal aliens. The guilty greedy employers will feel the heat as the "silent majority" gets vocal, and starts to report the criminalsas well as hammer the elected and appointed officials, to enforce the existing laws and rules.

This will show our government that "we-the-people" do have power are willing exercise that POWER, and will no longer tolerate the refusal of the elected and appointed "big guys" to do the will of the legal American citizens and LEGAL immigrants in this country.

Yankees Si, Banditos NO !
The time has come to encourage the invaders to go home. We can accomplish that best by demanding that local law & justice authorities prosecute the criminals who employ, harbor, aid and abet the illegal aliens.

We are demanding there be NO amnesty for illegal aliens criminals who broke our laws to cross our borders illegally, and committed felony crimes when they intentionally evaded our required border inspection stations (documents, food, physical health, immunizations, criminal background verification, etc).

Conventional wisdom is wrong; each illegal alien already has strike one.

We are demanding an end to the socialist/fascist corruption in our government by our errant elected officials who refuse to uphold our laws, our Constitution, their oaths of office, and stand up FOR the people who voted them into office. We are their bosses it's time for them to stop ignoring us, blatantly breaking our laws, and twisting the truth to suit their own nefarious agendas.

8. Please plan now to join the "Truck Out." It won't take much to convince the Congress that we are serious and we hold ALL the cards.
E-mail inamericasince1700@yahoo.com for more information. A phone number is set up and posted on the new web sites www.SaveAmericaFund.com and www.saveAmerica.com

There are three sections to the web site:
1. The "Truck Out" Boycott and Capitals Immobilization.

2. The Legal Fund for class action law suits against the government, the states, cities and our elected officials.

3. Campaign donations for Tom Tancredo for President, which will be directed to his donation web site, TEAM TANCREDO.

We have a talented and savvy press manager, Ed Lozzi. You can look up his web site at http://www.lozzipr.com/ . He is completely on board and is now setting up a press release media blitz for us through his wire service reaching 14,000 news rooms, magazines, talk shows, radio shows, journalists, etc.

This is a time-critical process. Ed Lozzi asks for the press releases to be ready for transmission by April 1 st. In so doing, we have the full benefits of the releasetimed perfectly for the coincidental "Truck-Out" and "FAIRUS Rally" in our Nation's Capital 23-25 April.

We also have an inter-national short wave radio broadcaster who already does worldwide broadcasts ready to do a series of "spots" for us, as often as we need it done, to reach the truckers and anyone else out there who wants to join this fight.

We are counting on the truckers to bring the national talk-show hosts into the mix. We want and need their powerful help.

We are already putting together PSA's for radio and television. We just need help to open the "front-doors" the way to get inside to get them aired in prime-time. We have Directors lined up; the scripts are being written right now, and A- and B-list talent willing to participate is already beating down our door to help.

Fellow Americans truckers, teamsters, independent haulers, and mom-and-pop outfits it's time to stop Bush and the U.S. Congress as they try to pull the fifth wheel out from under the CITIZEN TAXPAYER TRUCKERS in our nation.

Since Bush & Kennedy represent and favor Mexicans over Americans, and the House and Senate are likewise confused it's time to show them how to sing

"Give Me Forty Acres and I'll Turn This Rig Around."

Please help us; Send this message to every trucker, every trucker chat room, message board, CB operator, short wave and Ham Operator in America . Start now to be ready to use these three days (23-25 Apr 2007) to make a statement with your 18-wheeler or the chances are you won't have an 18-wheeler to drive by the time President Bush, Teddy Kennedy, and their friends destroy American Trucker Jobs!

Four arrested after Waffle House 'dash'

A bizarre incident at a Waffle House led to four Lexington men being cited by police following a high-speed chase. Devin C., 21, Shawn C., 18, Robert G., 19, and Marcus G., 18, were sitting at the counter in the restaurant early Friday morning when a fight between two girls broke out.

A restaurant employee flagged down nearby police officers to help break up the fight, and when the officers entered the restaurant the four men took off without paying their nearly $100 tab.

Richmond Police Chief Wanda Singleton and two detectives tried to stop the men in the parking lot, but the men hopped in a car and nearly struck the officers as they were leaving the lot, according to Richmond police.

Police chased the men at speeds reaching 100 mph before the men crashed into a pole. The men tried to run away after the crash, but were captured by authorities.

All four men were charged with alcohol intoxication. Devin C. was also charged with fleeing and evading, resisting arrest and identity theft. Shawn C., the driver, faces charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence and 10 counts of wanton endangerment.

Graves and one of the police officers were treated for minor injuries at Central Baptist hospital.

"Once you take a vehicle, which is considered a deadly weapon, and try to run over officers, that's no different than pulling a weapon and firing a shot over their heads," said Richmond Sgt. William Reardon.

Reardon didn't say how the men rolled up such a high tab at the restaurant, where the most expensive item on the menu is around $10.
10 Reasons Why Your Business Needs a Website
1. Your Business is Open to the World 24/7, 365 Days a Year
Unlike your company's office that may be open from 8-5, Monday thru Friday, your company 's website is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are many different time zones that may affect your business, which is why being on the web makes it time convenient for everyone.

2. It's Your Online Brochure / Catalog That Can Be Changed at Anytime
A website is easier, cheaper and quicker to update than print material. Its' capacities are almost limitless which allow you to provide users with more comprehensive information. This will save you money on printing and distribution costs as well.

3. Reach New Markets with a Global Audience
On the Internet, you aren't that local little business anymore. You have the potential to be seen by millions across the globe. Did you ever think your company would have the possibility of doing business around the world? Well, now you can. Without a doubt, the Internet is the most cost effective way to trade nationally and internationally.

4. Improved Customer Service
By providing answers to questions on your website, sales and information requests can be processed automatically and immediately, whether someone is in the office or not. Online forms can be used to allow customers to request quotations or ask further information. Save costs by allowing users to download invoices, proposals and important documents.

5. Present a Professional Image
For a small business, a well-designed web site is a great way of instilling confidence and looking bigger than you actually are. In this day in age, customers assume that you already have a website. By now, your primary competitors probably already have a presence on the Internet. If they do, keep up with them and find ways to make yours better.

6. Sell Your Products
Why pay expensive rent, overhead, electric bills, and all the other costs that go along with owning a bricks-n-mortar business? Selling in cyberspace is much cheaper and a good way to supplement your offline business. Providing secure online ordering is very affordable for even the smallest businesses.

7. Promote Your Services
Lawyers, doctors, financial consultants, entertainers, realtors and all service oriented businesses should let customers know that they have a choice. Millions of users are referring to the web and are using company's websites to make major decisions when they need a specialized service.

8. Gather Information and Generate Valuable Leads
You can gather information about your customers and potential customers by using forms and surveys. Rather than going out and getting leads, let them come to you. This is a great tool for prospecting targeted customers looking to use your products and services.

9. Provides Instant Gratification
People are busy and don't like to wait for information. Give them what they want, when they want it. If your product is suitable, offer them free samples or trials to download. This includes pictures, brochures, software, videos, Power Point slides, music and more.

10. Great Recruiting Tool
Whether you are looking for talent or posting job opportunities with your company, your website is a great recruiting tool for building your business.

The largest island in the world is Greenland. Australia is considered a continent because it has unique plant and animal life. Antarctica also is a continent - larger than Europe and Australia. Greenland, although quite big, shares the habitat features of Northern America.

A lot of standing room - not much else. This is Bishop Rock, the world's smallest island.
The smallest island in the world - according to the Guiness Book of Records - is Bishop Rock. It lies at the most south-westerly part of the United Kingdom. It is one of 1040 islands around Britain and only has a lighthouse on it. In 1861, the British government set out the parameters for classifying an island. It was decided that if it was inhabited, the size was immaterial. However, if it was uninhabited, it had to be "the summer's pasturage of at least one sheep" - which is about two acres.

Going by the above parameters, most of the 179 584 "islands" around Finland and the almost 200 000 around Canada would not match Indonesia as the country with the most islands. In fact, Indonesia consists only of islands - 13 667 of them, 6000 of which are inhabited.

The remotest uninhabited island is Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic. The remotest inhabited island in the world is Tristan da Cunha. It is in the South Atlantic, 2575 km (1600 miles) south of St Helena, which is an island a few hundred kilometres (miles) off the coast of South Africa. Tristan da Cunha has no TV but it has one radio station. The population totals 242 and they only have 7 surnames (last names) between them, so they are all related. Tristan da Cunha does have a capital, called Edinburgh of the South Seas.

The smallest independent island country is the Pacific island of Nauru. It measures 21,28 sq km (8.2 sq mi). (Only the Vatican City and Monaco are smaller countries.)

Of the 6 billion+ people in the world, one out of ten lives on an island (600 million). Which is not so hard to imagine when you consider that more than 200 million people live in Indonesia alone - and some 60 million live in Britain, the only island connected to a continent (through the Chunnel)
Penis museum

The Icelandic Phallological Museum in Husavík, Iceland, is a museum devoted to phallology. The museum currently has 154 specimens displayed like hunting trophies, embalmed in formaldehyde, or dried in display cases.

The museum attempts to collect penis specimens from every mammal extant in Iceland, including several species that are endangered or currently extinct in Icelandic waters.

Erving's Location. Population: 1

Erving's Location is situated in Coos County, New Hampshire. In New Hampshire, locations, grants, townships (which are different from towns), and purchases are unincorporated portions of a county which are not part of any town and have limited self-government (if any, as many are uninhabited).

According to the 2000 census, one person lived in Erving's Location. Some have speculated that the census statistics for Erving's Location could have been a computer glitch.

Microstate Sealand

The Principality of Sealand is a micronation that claims as its territory the artificial island of Roughs Tower, a former Maunsell Sea Fort located in the North Sea 10 km (six miles) off the coast of Suffolk, England, at 51°53′40″N, 1°28′57″E, as well as territorial waters in a twelve-nautical-mile radius. Sealand is occupied by family members and associates of Paddy Roy Bates, who styles himself as H.R.H. Prince Roy of Sealand. The population of the facility rarely exceeds five, and its inhabitable area is 550 m².
Although Sealand's claims to sovereignty and legitimacy are not recognized by any country, it is probably the world's best-known micronation, and is sometimes cited in debates as an interesting case study of how various principles of international law can be applied to a territorial dispute.

The greatest town name

Fucking is a small settlement (population c. 150), part of the municipality of Tarsdorf, in the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria, located at 48°02′59″N, 12°50′59″E, bordering Bavaria. It is near the city of Salzburg. The village is known to have existed as “Fucking” since at least 1070 and is named after a man from the 6th century called Focko.

Phone in nowhere

The Mojave phone booth was a lone telephone booth placed circa 1960 in the Mojave National Preserve which attracted an online following in 1997 due to its unusual location. The booth was 15 miles from the nearest interstate highway, and miles from any buildings.Fans called the booth attempting to get a reply, and a few took trips to the booth to answer, often camping out at the site. Several callers kept recordings of their conversations. Over time, the booth became covered in graffiti, as many travelers would leave a message on it.
The booth was removed on May 17, 2000 by Pacific Bell, at the request of the National Park Service.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a village on the island of Anglesey in Wales, situated on the Menai Strait close to Menai Bridge and Bangor.

It has the longest officially recognised place name in the United Kingdom and one of the longest in the world, being 58 letters in length.

World's steepest street

The quiet suburban street of Baldwin Street, in New Zealand's southern city of Dunedin, is reputed to be the world's steepest street. It is located in the suburb of North East Valley, 3.5 kilometres northeast of Dunedin's city centre. At its maximum, the slope of Baldwin Street is approximately 1:2.86 (19° or 35%) - that is, for every 2.86 metres travelled horizontally, the altitude rises by 1 metre.

Bunny Hill

Colletto Fava is a 5,000 foot (1,500 m) high hill in the northern Piedmont region of Italy. In 2005, Members of the Viennese art group Gelitin finished erecting a massive, pink, stuffed rabbit on the side of the mountain. The final piece is 200 feet (about 60 meters) in length and 20 feet (6 meters) high on its sides. The group not only expect people to observe the art work, but also for hikers to climb it and relax on the top.

Smallest park in the world

Mill Ends Park in Portland, Oregon is a tiny park that was created on St. Patrick's Day, 1948, to be a colony for leprechauns and a location for snail races. It is the smallest park in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, which first granted it this recognition in 1971. The "park" is a circle two feet (610 mm) across (with a total area of 2,916 cm²)

Christian church decorated with the bones of 40 000 people.

The Sedlec Ossuary is a small Christian chapel decorated with human bones. It's located in Sedlec, which is a suburb in the outskirts of the Czech town Kutna Hora.
The ossuary contains approximately 40,000 human skeletons which have been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel.

Contrary to some views on Trucks and their drivers, it is a hard job. Drivers leave their homes for weeks at a time for the most part. When they do get the chance to go home, many find a "Dear John" letter. Truck driving is hard in many areas both for the driver and his family.
Other factors they deal with are traffic jams, lack of road curtesy so they can get things to where you live, and adverse weather conditions, to name a few. They get paid by the mile usually so if they have to sit a long time waiting to get loaded, unloaded, or stuck in a traffic jam, there is no miles being put on that truck to make the paycheck to pay the bills.

With all they put up with and go through, I thought I would add a few things that can actually be true but I won't tell if any of them are or not.

No offense intended to any Company or driver in these tales.

Swift's Backing Troubles
I was in the TA lot watching a swift truck trying to back into a hole for the night when after quite a bit of time, the Swift driver got on the radio for help; I helped him back in and he wanted to give me 10 dollars, I replied no keep your weeks pay. If your truck had a trailer on it I would accept it

JB v. The DOT
A JB driver was wandering around the truck stop scale in a panic. A Swift driver walks over and says what is wrong JB. The JB driver replies I am 2,500 lbs over gross and I only have to go 5 miles with it and there is a scale on the way. The Swift driver says well when you get up to the scale cut your lights off and coast on by. The JB driver replies thats a good idea so they part ways. the Swift driver is traveling down the road when he notices the JB driver pulled over by the DOT. The swift driver replies what happened JB the trick didn't work. The DOT replies no but it would have if it would have been night time.

Did you hear that Navistar International and Mack are going to merge?
The new truck will be called a Corn-Dog.

What does WERNER Stand For?
We Employ Rednecks No Experience Required!

DOT Shoots Trucker
A fuel nozzle malfunctioned as a driver put fuel in his truck at the Pilot in Wildwood, FL, causing the fuel to splash up and completely soak the driver's left hand and arm. The driver went in and complained, paid for his fuel and left, heading north. A few miles up the road, he came to the weigh station and, as luck would have it, they were on the scales checking log books.

The driver patiently sat in line, waiting for his turn to show his log book, rolled down his window and lit a cigarette. As the driver moved forward, an ash or something must have come off the cigarette and landed on his diesel soaked sleeve because it suddenly burst into flames! The driver began yelling and flailing his arm out the window in a panic, desperately to get the fire out, but to no avail. The two DOT officers, taking stock of the situation, drew their service revolvers and shot the driver four times, killing him.

Not only did the officers not recieve any discipline, they were given a commendation for their quick and decisive action. Why? Because the driver was obviously brandishing a fire arm in a commercial vehicle.

I hope you enjoyed the few laughs from these.
